The new Permanent Observer for the South Centre to the United Nations, Manuel (Butch) F. Montes, presented his letter of appointment to UN Secretary-General António Guterres on 5 July.
As an intergovernmental policy research institution of the South, the South Centre is an important partner of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation. The South Centre undertakes research and analysis oriented on various international policy areas that are relevant to the protection and promotion of the development interests of developing countries. The South Centre has worked extensively with Member States in the various post-2015 processes, including on the SDGs, Agenda 2030, FFD3, and COP21.
