Global Initiative
Global Alliance for South-South and Triangular Cooperation
Connecting solutions. Scaling impact. Delivering results.
Convened by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the Alliance is a voluntary, UN-facilitated platform that connects country priorities with expertise, partnerships and catalytic support – helping turn shared experience into real-world solutions.
What is the Global Alliance?
Across the Global South, countries are developing practical solutions to shared challenges – but too often these remain fragmented and hard to scale.
The Global Alliance for South-South and Triangular Cooperation changes this. It provides a trusted space where countries and partners can connect needs with solutions and opportunities for collaboration.
Through a demand-driven approach, partners share priorities, identify what works and co-create initiatives across regions.
The Alliance helps turn shared experience into action – and action into impact.
Why this Alliance now?
Without faster scaling of solutions, SDG progress will continue to lag
The Challenge
Progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals remains uneven, as financing gaps and increasingly complex, interconnected challenges – including climate change, food insecurity, digital divides and growing vulnerabilities – continue to constrain countries’ ability to deliver at scale.
The Opportunity
At the same time, many proven solutions already exist across the Global South, but remain difficult to access and underutilized.
The Alliance responds to this gap by helping countries and partners better connect expertise, partnerships and catalytic support. It enables a shift from isolated successes to scaled impact – accelerating results where they are needed most.
