Description

As one of the oldest business schools in China, Hunan University Business School has a long history dating back to the year of 1911, and the name was Hunan Business Teacher Institute. There were a lot of famous alumni in different fields studying here, such as Chairman Mao Zedong. Over the subsequent years, the Business School has then proceeded to develop its academic reputation in both teaching and research in business fields.

Not only having a very accomplished history, Hunan University Business School is entering a brighter and higher position nowadays. Hunan University is ranked 81st of Asian Universities (Times Higher Education, 2014), and Hunan University Business School is ranked 12th in last China Discipline Ranking of 2012, which was hosted by Chinese Ministry of Education.

Today there are seven departments in business school which are related to management science, business management, marketing, e-commerce, accounting, information management, and financial management. More than 140 outstanding faculty members are in the school. Many of them graduated from world renowned universities, such as University of Illinois, University of Massachusetts, University of Connecticut, University of Wollongong, Queen Mary University of London, Tokyo Institute of Technology and have gained a series of Chinese national prizes and honors.

Every year, lots of celebrated professors and scholars from global well-known universities and institutes, like University of Illinois, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, Monash University, University of London, etc., will have visits to the school and interact with the students.

As a famous business school, we have built excellent cooperation with a great number of famous companies and institutes, like Bosch Corporation, Zoomlion, Golden Eagle Broadcasting System, etc. Students have many opportunities to have internships in these companies and even join them after graduation. Establishing the leading role of discipline construction, the school sets the personnel cultivation as the focus of its work. On the platform of internationalization, Hunan University Business School ensures an active implementation of teaching, research, and social services to improve the quality of its teaching and pursue a joint endeavor to produce first-rate scholars and workers and obtain first-rate achievement and efficiency. The business school will strive to establish itself as a first-rate school in China, a harmonious and high standard school with international reputation.
