About

Karatay district of Konya, Türkiye, has an area of 2.746.440.000 m² and altitude of the district is 1,015 meters. As of the end of year 2023, the population of Karatay district is 370,927. Konya Mevlana Museum, located within the borders of Karatay district, is the third most visited museum in Türkiye; with the number of visitors reached 2,817,386 at the end of 2018. The Mevlana Museum visited by domestic and foreign tourists throughout the year, as well as ?ems-i Tebrizi Tomb, Karatay Madrasah, weaving, hand embroidery, spooning, felting, handicrafts such as carpet weaving in Obruk region tourism to stay alive throughout the year in our district.

As the Municipality of Karatay, we carry out projects within the framework of a participatory understanding by saying “Another Karatay” with the awareness of the historical and cultural values of our district, with its great potential in various fields including tourism, industry and agriculture, with the awareness and responsibility that we can offer a much higher quality of life to those living in the district today.
