On July 31, 2024, UNOSSC launched its flagship Galaxy platform after a major revamp through a collaborative effort with UNDP’s Chief Digital Office.
This upgrade has integrated the latest knowledge management technologies to improve user experience, data access, visualization, and analysis capabilities.
By offering a range of new features, the platform serves as a consolidated South-South and triangular cooperation platform for the benefit of all partners. The main new features of the platform include enhanced data accessibility, visualization, and analysis; tailored AI integration; a PowerBI Dashboard for South-South solutions; a dedicated digital assistant; tailored Data Collaboratives and Thematic Databases; and the integration of Communities of Practice for research and collaboration.
The Galaxy platform currently hosts over 600 registered organizations and over 900 solutions covering all SDGs and nearly 193 countries. It is the largest repository of South-South and triangular cooperation solutions, publications, organizations, and related data.

Complementary to the launch of the revamped Galaxy platform, UNOSSC also introduced its new global service line, the South-South and Triangular Cooperation Solutions Lab, as outlined in the Strategic Framework.
The Lab aims to become a global platform for incubating and testing innovative and evidence-based solutions for South-South and triangular cooperation, as well as a global partnership for accelerating such cooperation.
Launched in the presence of over 100 participants from around the world on July 31, the Lab is founded on a solid partnership between the UNOSSC and its first cohort of partners – World Food Programme, International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Gulf Organization for Research and Development, and the Masdar City.
The Lab will focus on several priority thematic areas, including accelerating renewable energy adoption, enhancing agricultural productivity and climate resilience, promoting financial inclusion and digital platforms, and supporting informed urban planning. The Lab is open for new partnerships and thematic areas of focus.
Invitations for potential collaboration could be sent to the UNOSSC Knowledge Management Team to kmt@unossc.org.
