During the last quarter, the India-UN Development Partnership Fund (India-UN Fund), established in 2017, has continued to support South-South cooperation for advancement of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, contributing towards improved livelihoods and a better future for all.
For example, in El Salvador – with India-UN Fund support – an education project implemented by UNICEF distributed 4,500 books to 1,500 children in 82 schools in different regions of the country.
In Fiji, a United Nations Capital Development Fund project that is addressing climate disaster risk through financing and parametric insurance, enabled 620 community members to receive digital benefit payments via the parametric insurance system.
Two other projects, in Kyrgyzstan (implemented by the United Nations Population Fund/UNFPA) and Paraguay (implemented by the Pan-American Health Organization), are focused on enhancing capacity development of high-quality reproductive and maternal health services for women in rural and indigenous communities.
The project in Moldova, implemented by UNFPA, supported an international conference on data governance attended by 100 experts.
Another project in Burkina Faso, implemented by UNDP, successfully completed the construction of a dam with capacity of 580,000 cubic meters.
