The Government of India-funded project: “Reinforce the Resilience of the Vulnerable Populations in the Regions of the Kanem and Lake Chad” officially received the approval for implementation. The project document has been signed by the representatives of the Government of India and Chad’s Minister of Environment, Water and Fishing in N’Djamena on August 1.
This project is supported by the India-UN development Partnership Fund and aims to address the development challenges of insufficient Water and Sanitation for Health (WASH) infrastructures, as well as improper solid waste and garbage disposal and inadequate hygiene practices that will prevent water-borne diseases in the regions of Kanem and Lake Chad. The project has three main areas of focus:
- Water Availability,
- Water Quality, and
- Sanitation and Health Services.
