An international conference on South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) entitled “Leveraging Innovations from the Global South to Support Rural Transformation” was convened in Brasilia, Brazil, 20-21 November 2017.
The event was organized by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Brazil, in partnership with other actors, such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), and the and the International Land Coalition (ILC).
High-level keynote presentations addressed the current status of SSTC activities for agriculture and rural development.
In order to showcase innovative solutions from different countries and situations, the conference included a “marketplace”, an exhibition space through which participants were able to interact directly with, and learn from, innovative rural development solutions providers. In this regard, interested organizations were able to set up booths in a dedicated space (i.e. the market place) at the conference venue.
