### Background Information

ICESCO, initially founded as the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in 1982, is a specialized institution operating under the aegis of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Headquartered in Rabat, Morocco, ICESCO is dedicated to promoting education, science, culture, and communication within the Islamic world, fostering cooperation among member states, and advocating for the preservation and development of Islamic heritage.
