Least Developed Countries (LDCs) face a particularly challenging path to boost gains for people and planet, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of a series organized by the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO), UNOSSC Director Ms. Dima Al-Khatib, Ms. Lila Pieters Yahia, UN Resident Coordinator in Mauritania, and Ms. Karla R. Hershey, UN Resident Coordinator in Bhutan, discussed how UN teams are helping overcome barriers in LDCs to leave no one behind.
Among others, financing challenges faced by LDCs were discussed, as well as solutions UN teams have brought to the table, including how South-South cooperation can play a catalytic role.
While the challenges are immense, the RCs conveyed a message of hope and people-planet-centred solutions, showcasing results on the ground.
