The challenges and opportunities of South-South and triangular cooperation in the context of the COVID-19 crisis: Role of International Cooperation Agencies

The United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) organized a webinar on “The challenges and opportunities of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the context of the COVID-19 crisis: Role of International Cooperation Agencies”
This event brought together different stakeholders in South-South and triangular cooperation to discuss the relevance and challenges of this modality of cooperation and to join the efforts of actors from the South and the North to respond to global challenges.
Participants discussed the role that South-South and triangular cooperation can play in contributing to the global effort to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. They also shared experiences in terms of policies, strategies and measures taken respectively by countries and international organizations to foster this cooperation in the fight against the pandemic.
The event was also an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, and to identify partnership opportunities for South-South and triangular cooperation to meet the various health, social and economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Le webinar aura lieu le mardi 2 juin de 13 heures à 15 heures 30 GMT.
Cet évènement réunira différentes parties prenantes de la coopération Sud-Sud et triangulaire pour débattre de la pertinence et des défis de cette modalité de coopération, qui vise à fédérer les efforts des acteurs du Sud et du Nord pour répondre à un défi mondial.
Les participants discuteront du rôle que peut jouer la coopération Sud-Sud et triangulaire pour contribuer à l’effort mondial de lutte contre la pandémie du COVID-19. Ils partageront également les expériences en matière de politiques, de stratégies et des mesures prises respectivement par les Etats et organisations internationales pour stimuler cette coopération dans la lutte contre cette pandémie.
L’évènement pourrait aussi servir, sur la base d’échanges des idées et des expériences, à identifier les opportunités de partenariat de Coopération Sud-Sud et Triangulaire pour répondre aux différents défis, sanitaires, sociaux et économiques engendrés par la pandémie du COVID-19.
