Small island nations are highly vulnerable to natural disasters, especially hurricanes. With the support of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, the Abaco Community Center and Hurricane Shelter, located in the northern Bahamas, serves the dual purpose of community center during quiet times and hurricane shelter during hurricanes or other natural disasters.
