A community of practice is shaping up, following the Lisbon international meetings on triangular co-operation since 2012 and the Second UN High-level Conference on South-South Co-operation (BAPA +40) in Buenos Aires in March 2019. This network is indispensable to learn more about the
modality of triangular co-operation. We are grateful and indebted to the 43 representatives from governments, co-operation agencies, civil society organisations, philanthropy, the private sector and research institutes who shared their experiences, views, and project information during the interviews for this study.

Furthermore, we would like to thank the participants in the fifth international meeting on triangular cooperation, which was held on 17-18 October 2019 in Lisbon, for sharing their insights, discussing a first
version of this paper and de-mystifying the issue of transaction costs.
