South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the Health Sector in Ibero-America, 2018

As a result of the close collaboration between the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), the second edition of the publication “South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the health sector in Ibero-America – 2018.” This document analyzes the South-South Cooperation initiatives in the field of Health that were included in the Report on South-South Cooperation in Ibero-America 2017. Based on these data, PAHO/WHO and SEGIB outline an analysis in depth of health cooperation in Ibero-America. In fulfillment of their respective mandates, an evidence-based essay is presented, that serves the Member States and decision-makers to maximize potential synergies through the dynamics of South-South and triangular Cooperation, to face the challenges in the framework of the 2030 agenda. This edition also contains sheets for each of the Member States that participate in the reporting process to SEGIB, thus providing a better view of the cooperation profile for each of the countries.

In addition, the publication makes a brief analysis of the contribution of South-South and triangular cooperation to the Sustainable Development Goals beyond goal 3, demonstrating the multisectoral approach of the projects and actions.
