UNOSSC, UNESCO World Heritage Institute for Training and Research for the Asia and Pacific Region (WHITRAP) and UN-Habitat Beijing Office’s Human Settlement Magazine launched this joint report titled ‘Heritage Conservation in Chinese Cities: Good practices and experiences in the context of South-South Cooperation’ at the World Heritage Creative Innovator Forum in Hangzhou.
The report presents 12 Chinese local examples of creative heritage education and conservation, introduces replicable solutions and innovative approaches that can be easily applied in other contexts, and fosters potential partnerships among developing countries to promote sustainable heritage protection and conservation.
At the report’s launch UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib highlighted that “heritage stands as a cornerstone of sustainable development, contributing to environmental preservation, economic growth, and social cohesion within our communities.”
